Starting July 25, 2028, compact fluorescent lamps (CFLs) and many linear fluorescent tubes will be phased out nationwide. The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) has finalized new lighting efficiency standards requiring most bulbs to meet a minimum of 120 lumens per watt.
