The New Panasonic KX-TDA Digital Telephone System

The Panasonic KX-TDA systems are a revolutionary new product, combining the quality, flexibility and reliability of the traditional Panasonic digital telephone systems with many new features and benefits, including the newest voice-over IP technology.

Voice over IP (VoIP) allows telephone calls to be routed over the customer's local or wide area computer network, achieving greater flexibility and use of the network infrastructure.  In addition, VoIP technology is capable of being integrated with the customer's network, providing a wide host of new features such as linking your e-mail and voice mail, displaying call information on your computer screen, or using your Microsoft Outlook address book.

The design of the KX-TDA systems allows the customer to expand the system as their needs grow, by plugging in additional cards and telephones to the plug-in architecture.  All of the expansion slots in the KX-TDA chassis are universal, so that any card may be plugged into any universal slot.  In addition, all of the TDA expansion cards operate on both the KX-TDA100 and KX-TDA200 systems.

One important thing to note about the KX-TDA system is that there is always a dial tone waiting for each telephone that is connected to the system - even during the busiest times of the day.  Some VoIP systems are limited, allowing only a certain number of stations to be connected at any one time.

There are three new Panasonic KX-TDA telephone systems: The KX-TDA50, the KX-TDA100, and the KX-TDA200 (pictured at right), with the differences being in the system capacities of the number of telephone and phone lines.  The software features and options are the same for all Panasonic KX-TDA systems.

Also available with the KX-TDA systems is the 2.4 GHz Multi-Cell Wireless capability.  The KX-TDA Multi-Cell Wireless option allows for the transmission of voice and data traffic via 2.4 GHz radio waves within the placement of multiple cell stations.  As you move throughout the coverage area, the Wireless system provides seamless communication by "handing off" the call from cell station to cell station.  Multi-Cell Wireless is a low-cost and highly effective flexible solution that keeps people connected wherever they are in the facility.  Multiple handsets can be connected to one system and handsets can be registered on multiple systems.

Features of the Panasonic KX-TDA include:

  • Integration with existing T1 or ISDN circuits
  • Includes Q-SIG protocol which provides seamless connection between Panasonic and other systems and networks
  • Digital Voice Mail integration providing a full range of voice-mail, auto-attendant, and interview services.
  • Caller ID/Call Logging - Each extension logs Caller ID information for up to 30 calls, answered or not.
  • Universal Call Distribution - With UCD incoming calls are evenly distributed to operators or agents (such as a sales or support group).  Four different messages for each group can be recorded and played back in a cycle informing the caller of the status of their call in the queue.
  • Unique to Panaxonic systems, the XDP port allows the user to add an analog phone, cordless phone, fax, modem or other standard-line device to the system, without the cost of adding an additional line.

These new Panasonic Telephone Systems are in stock at Kendall Electric and are installed and supported by our network of Panasonic Certified Installers.  Contact a Kendall Telcom/Data Specialist for information or a demonstration of the new Panasonic KX-TDA Telephone Systems.
