Sylvania OCTRON® Four Foot FO30 XP® SUPERSAVER® ECOLOGIC
Fluorescent Lamps
SYLVANIA 30 Watt OCTRON FO30 XP SUPERSAVER ECOLOGIC lamps operate on standard T8 instant start systems and provide 6% energy savings over standard 32 Watt OCTRON lamps. At $.10 per kWh and 4000 hours of operation per year, the 6% energy savings translates to a savings of $2.80 per fixture per year for a 4-lamp fixture with a
normal ballast factor, instant start ballast.

Capture the savings when you switch from T12 ballasts |
|
T12s are expensive to operate and a dying technology. Due to the high energy consumption and environmental impact of T12s, the government passed the Federal Ballast Rule 2000. As of April last year, new T12 luminaries are no long allowed to be manufactured. As of July 1, 2010, T12 magnetic ballasts will no longer be manufactured.
Many users of T12s have not changed to a better performing technology because they are not aware of how much T12s currently cost to keep and operate. Below is a comparison of a 4 lamp T12 fixture vs the same fixture using 4 T8 lamps and a new electronic ballast. Form my example, I plugged in 4 30 watt T8s running on a low ballast factor electronic ballast. Results will vary depending on exactly what product you use to replace what T12. However, the results are impressive. A 14 month payback, not including the EPAct benefits!
If you are currently using T12s, then it is now time for you to contact your Kendall Electric Account Manager. Just ask them to provide you their assistance at helping you to capture the maximum savings; at a minimum cost. Changing an existing fixture's ballast and lamps is one of the simplest retrofits available.
