Raintight EMT Fittings from

 Appleton Electric/ETP is offering a line of UL Listed “Raintight” EMT steel compression style coupling and connectors.
In early 1999, UL (Underwriters Laboratories) was requested to determine if production samples of
various UL Listed Raintight Compression EMT Fittings were effectively excluding water in typical wet
locations, as required by the UL listing. A program was started to evaluate all UL Listed Raintight EMT products on the market. UL found that a large percentage of these fittings did not effectively exclude rain.
Various manufacturers samples were gathered and tested using the new UL testing program. Of all products tested to UL’s new, more stringent procedures, a 38% failure rate was recorded. Based upon this evaluation, UL rescinded all manufacturers Raintight listings for EMT fittings, Effective March 15, 2002.
UL Listed Raintight EMT compression connectors and couplings now being offered under the Appleton ETP brand have successfully passed UL’s testing and listing process, and have the right to be marked “Raintight”.
 InspectoRidge
The fittings have an “InspectoRidge” feature that is formed outside the coupling or connector. This feature allows an electrical inspector to immediately determine if these fittings are raintight by simply observing the ridge. Inspectors will know that if there is a ridge, the fitting is raintight without disassembling the fitting or climbing a ladder. Appleton ETP couplings and connectors are the only
such products on the market to feature this unique design.
These fittings are offered in ½-inch to 1-inch with 1-1/4 to 2-inch on the way. They have internal sealing rings as well as a KO sealing ring for raintight integrity at the enclosure. The fittings install with standard electrician tools. No disassembly of the fitting is required during installation.

Greenlee now offers poly line in a convenient 500' package. This smaller size is perfect for use on service trucks where storage space is limited, and it is also very
convenient for directly pulling smaller electrical and communications wires where long lengths aren't needed.
The 430-500 poly line is the same 210 lb. (934 N) breaking strength line used in the larger buckets, and it comes in a tube with a
pre-punched hole for dispensing the line
without tangling. The line can be blown into conduit and then used to pull in a larger pulling rope, or it can be used directly to pull in smaller wires.
