Self-Feeding Spade Bit from Greenlee

The new Self-Feeding Spade Bit is the newest design in spade bit technology. The new self-feeding design requires the user to apply less force, therefore reducing operator fatigue and potential wrist injury. Simply start the spade bit into the wood and notice the smooth action of the drill bit once the threaded teeth engage in the wood. The bit literally pulls (or self-feeds) its way clear through the wood with little force from the user.

Less Force Means Less Vibration
When you’re drilling with standard spade bits, you’re likely accustomed to substantial vibration and jerking due to the force needed to leverage the spade bit through the wood. Not a problem with the new Greenlee Self-Feeding Spade Bit. You don’t need to use the same amount of force and that means less vibration and jerkiness – and less torque on your hand or wrist.

Threaded/Toothed Design Delivers
While some bits claim to be self-threading, only the tip of the bit may actually be threaded. So as soon as the tip breaks through the back of the wood, all the pulling/threading power is lost. But this isn’t the case with the new Greenlee Self-Feeding Spade Bit. With its threaded/toothed design, once the bit’s teeth grab the wood, the bit pulls its way all the way through. Drilling in tight or awkward positions just got a whole lot easier.

Easily Enlarges Existing Holes
Finally – none of the current spade bits on the market today allow for the enlargement of existing holes. Once a hole has been made, it’s extremely difficult to
enlarge the hole. However, the new Self-Feeding Spade Bit’s tapered head design allows you to easily start the head of the next size bit in the existing hole and drill the hole out to the new size. Problem solved.

Contact your Kendall Electric Account Manager for more information about Greenlee's Self-Feeding Spade Bit Technology.  Whether you’re trying to drive, drill, punch or knock out holes, you’ve always known the name Greenlee is synonymous with holemaking.
