Course Purpose:
This course is designed as an introduction to programmable controller systems.
You will learn what programmable controller systems are, how they work, and how they can be used to control various processes and machines. In addition, you will receive a thorough introduction to RSLogix 5 or RSLogix 500 software and learn how to interpret simple ladder logic.
The course is taught in a hands-on environment, featuring PLC-5® or SLC 500™ system workstations. Where applicable, demonstrations are included to facilitate the hands-on exercises that follow each lesson.
Who Should Attend:
Individuals who have little or no working experience with programmable controller systems should attend this course. This course is also recommended for individuals who are preparing for the following courses:
Programming PLC-5 Systems Using RSLogix 5 Software (course CCP410).
Programming SLC 500 Systems Using RSLogix 500 Software (course CCPS41).
Maintaining and Troubleshooting a PLC-5 System Using RSLogix 5 Software (course CCP412).
Maintaining and Troubleshooting an SLC 500 System Using RSLogix 500 Software (course CCPS43).

Performance and Visibility
RSView Studio
Both RSView Supervisory Edition and RSView Machine Edition share a common design environment called RSView Studio that allows users to create applications in a single design environment. RSView Studio supports editing and reusing projects for improved portability between embedded machine and supervisory HMI systems. With RSView Enterprise Series, all software products in the suite are built on the same integrated, scalable architecture. Application developers can import entire machine-level applications into supervisory-level applications or drag individual components and drop them right into supervisory projects, saving development time and reducing engineering and training
costs.
With RSView Studio, you can:
• Configure a single operator
station or configure an
entire distributed
application from one
location
• Access tags from OPC
servers throughout the
system via a tag browser
that presents direct PLC
tags and HMI tags in a
logical hierarchy
• Remotely configure RSLinx
and RSView SE servers
• Create displays using a
full-featured graphics
editor
